Everton This Week

Transfer

Moyes brought in three promising youngsters - 22 year-old American Midfield Anton Peterlin, 17 year-old German Shkodran Mustafi, 16 year-old English Luke Garbutt.

Still, the return of Jo from Manchester City on loan is something to crow about. He did not prove to be a clinical finisher last season but still, he has skills that will come in useful. Afterall, he's a Brazilian!

Friendly

The first friendly of Everton's season ended in a 1-2 defeat by Bury. Everton played quite a number of youngsters while allowing some senior players to have a run-out as well. First teamer Bainsey, Neville, Saha, Vaughny and Gosling started the game, with the rest of the players hailing from the youth team. Saha scored in the first half, and during half time, Everton made a wholesale change of players. All the 1st half first teamers were taken out, while Hibbo, Ossie and Jo had their share of play.

Newcomers Peterlin and Mustafi were also given the opportunity to dirty their boots a little. This is more of a run-out for all players game. Let's see what happens to the other games as we draw closer to the start of the brand new 09/10 season of Barclays Premier League.

Everton's Transfer News: Jo & Mustafi

Everton has closed the deal on talented German teenager Shkodran Mustafi. Singaporean-Evertonian (SE) reported about this deal previously, albeit a bit late. This boy is for the future and Everton is definitely a place for him.

Another player will most likely join Everton on loan once again.

Jo, who had a wonderful loan spell with Everton, has also linked up with the club as they take their pre-season training to Scotland. Welcome back Jo!

Lescott Going?

I've this feeling in my bones that Lescott will be going. When news reports of him moving to Manchester City came up, there was no word from him to rubbish them. When Chelsea's John Terry was courted, he came out to say that he will not be budging.

But not Lescott. Anyway, there's always a price for the players. Pay the club enough and they will budge. Will we see the last of Lescott at Goodison?
