We have always visited big clubs with much trepidation. But this year the feeling is all so different. Everton somehow seems to relish these big confrontations. Their narrow losses to Man United and Liverpool showed that the Toffees can fight tooth and nail against the top four clubs.
Today's confrontation with Arsenal is no different. There's not much expectation on Everton as they are the under-dogs, but for Arsenal, they are expected to win Everton to stay within striking distance of Manchester United. Pressure to stay within the top two will only leave gaps at the back, and that Everton will exploit the gaps today.
There's just this strange confidence that Everton will win even when others are saying that Everton will not.
