It was a totally uninteresting match between the two teams. This time round, Portsmouth was the better team with more shots on goals and they were also more threatening.
Moyes started with the same team that thrashed Sunderland last week. Valente is slowly claiming his place as left back. This means that Baines was not in the team. Joning Baines were Faddie andTommy.
Many of the Everton players did not perform up to par. Arteta on the left wing found it rather difficult to pass his markers and Pienaar had to resort to fouling his opponents. Everton needed Howard to be in top form to save two near goals. This was one game that Everton would love to forget. Nothing to crow about.
