Everton: We Came, We Saw, We Lost, Again!

Another loss, and Everton now is so close to the relegation zone. We are really in trouble.

Everton is in the dumps as their confidence dipped to their lowest point. It is one thing to play against the big clubs back-to-back, but it's another thing when they did not even take a single point from that match. And now they are facing Newcastle - a club that is now sitting in the top half of the table.

Drenthe is back after his suspension while Heitinga comes in for Distin. Coleman has been moved to the left. Not too sure if he's comfortable with that.

Everton got sucker-punched as early as 12th minute. A cross was mildly deflected by Bainesy and it caught Heitinga in two minds. Before he could say "No!", he fully stretched leg could only direct the ball into his own goal. Newcastle 1-0 Everton.

Everton started to threatened and in succession, Saha and Ossie had their opportunities by then received a second sucker punch. A blazing stike that Howard had not a single chance to save. Newcastle 2-1 Everton.

Everton tried to fight back but when everything went the Toffee's way, the post had to deny Saha his goal. Sigh! To make matters worse, Neville is taken off in the 41st minute and on came Distin.

Everton is down by two goals and the only way to get back on is to score the first goal, and that was just what Everton needed. In the 45th minute, Drenthe curled in a sweet corner which was met by a stinging header by Rodwell. Newcastle 2-1 Everton. Drenthe assist.

Start of the second half. Saha had a glorious chance in the 53rd minute but his shot was deflected wide no less by traitor Gosling with his hands. But the referee did not see that.

Timmy in for Heitinga in the 55th minute and he made jos first contribution with a back header and a shot on goal all within 4 minutes of his entry. Saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

Drenthe has now moved over to the left while Coleman is back in his comfortable right wing.

Final change by Everton - Faddie in for Hibbo in the 80th minute. But in the end, it meant for nothing.

Score: Newcastle 2-1 Everton
Scorer: Rodwell
Assist: Drenthe
Subs: Distin, Timmy, Faddie
