I was half watching the match, half doing my work as I had to discuss matters over the telephone. Thus, was not really concentrating on the match though I did catch all the important moments such as the 36th minute goal by Timmy, Jag saving Everton in the 59th minute by clearing off the line.

Without the gelling impact of Arteta, Everton was running along like a headless chicken. Everton was going into a lull and WBA was taking full advantage of it. In the 65th minute, a WBA striker was through on goal but Timmy ran all the way back to make that important tackle.

But, maestro Moyes made an important change that saw Saha replacing Felli and what an impact it made. What a turn, what a strike, what a goal. In the 69th minute, Pienaar fought to win the ball in WBA's half. The ball reached Saha with his back to goal, he tapped the ball to the right, and struck it towards goal. Everton 2-0 WBA.

Everton was in ascendency as in the 73rd minute, Pienaar toe-poked the ball towards goal and would have scored if not for the reflex of the opposing goalkeeper

This was one game that Everton did not play well but win.

Score: Everton 2-0
Scorer: Timmy, Saha
Assist: Bainesy, Pienaar
Subs: Ossie, Saha, Castillo
